Personal
I am originally from Minnesota and have two younger brothers and amazing parents. I love to learn new things, whether it is by traveling to a new location, reading a book, picking up a new hobby, meeting new people, or trying different types of food. I am passionate about serving others and being able to really step into someone else’s shoes and experience how they see the world.
One summer, I lived in Athens, Greece and had the opportunity to serve refugees living in the camp there. Since that experience I have sought out ways to serve refugee populations and increase awareness. I currently lead a citizenship class through Lutheran Services of Iowa where we help people practice for their citizenship exams.
I am also working on completing my M.A. in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration, through online classes from the University of London. In my spare time you can find me curled up with a book and a cup of coffee or on a random adventure with my friends and family.
Education
