Personal
I reside in a small community south of Des Moines with my son, Colton. In the warmer months we enjoy firing up the grill, taking walks, playing yard games, and hanging out with friends and family. In the cooler weather we like to make spicy dishes and get in a board game every now and again. If there are any spare moments, I may be found playing some simple tunes on my piano or reading a good book.
I volunteer at my church by leading a children’s Sunday School class as well as serving on prayer teams and managing our Greeter and Welcome Center teams. Having the ability and opportunity to serve in each of these capacities has brought me much joy! This joy comes from connecting with others and discovering how I can be a blessing to them in any season of life and with any age group. One of God’s promises I have clung tightly to over the years says: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10. Whether beginning an exciting new journey or walking someone through a challenging season of life, it is my hope and prayer that I may encourage my neighbor to rest in God’s promises and wait patiently for the blessings to come.
